Episode 46 – Ian Duncan from a solid base of excellent tuition by household names in piping, developed the iconic Vale of Atholl Pipe Band. This was the band which created the standard for concert bands in the British Isles – it smashed boundaries in seeking to promote and entertain with ground breaking sets of music derived from all corners. Here is also a mention of his brother, Gordon Duncan. Later Ian went on to lead various bands from various conditions to the top of the band world – Grade 1. He describes how he has done this.
There is lots of fun in this episode starting from the first second and also a surprise in the middle somewhere. So, worth watching it all!
This supersedes a previous recording of Ian and we hope that you enjoy this one.
