Episode 19 – Ian Duncan from a solid base of wonderful tuition by household names in piping, developed from the bottom up the iconic Vale of Atholl Pipe Band. This was the band which created the standard for concert bands in the British Isles – it smashed boundaries in seeking to promote and entertain with ground breaking sets of music derived from all corners. Here is also a mention of his brother, Gordon Duncan. Later Ian went on to lead various bands from various conditions to the top of the band world – Grade 1. He describes how he has done this.
