Episode 62 – In March 2016, Pipers’ Persuasion crossed over the sea to the Misty Isle, the Isle of Skye where we were graciously welcomed by Emily and Angus into their warm comfortable house and commenced an interview with, Dr Angus MacDonald. Angus is eldest of three famous pipers, Allan (already on Pipers’ Persuasion ) and Iain who all have a different approach to their piping. And all the more interesting for that. Ranging through early piping in Queen Victoria School; initiating piping with folk groups on BBC; initiating Feis event on Barra which took hold all over, based that example, and other interesting matters like playing with a pipe band and winning top medals and recording ground breaking CDs, then one could conclude that Dr Angus has had an interesting piping life on top of his medical career which took him to Cape Breton for a wife and more piping influences which has been passed on.
